Ultra Violet rays (UV-C 100 to 280nm and specifically UV-C of 254nm wavelength) are non-visible light energy used to disturb the DNA structure of bacteria, viruses and other pathogens and thus destroy their ability to multiply and cause diseases. Ultra violet technology is a non-chemical approach to disinfections, where nothing is added to water but a strong waves of ultra violet rays are passed through water for certain amount of time to kill the bacteria.
